Discover neck supports from Back on Track
Back on Track neck supports are made of soft and supple textile materials containing Welltex® or Iontex®. Our neck supports can help relieve temporary and long-term neck pain by reflecting the far infrared energy (FIR) from body heat, which in turn can stimulate blood circulation.
When blood flow increases in stiff, tense and cold muscles, the transport of oxygen and nutrients to the area improves and the muscles become more supple. This can help the muscles relax and support the body's own healing processes.
FIR is often perceived to alleviate problems with stiff joints. Neck supports can therefore help to increase mobility in the neck, shoulders and thoracic spine. This type of neck support is an excellent therapeutic complement also for long-term neck problems, such as whiplash injuries, strains and osteoarthritis.
Why do people experience neck pain?
Neck pain is common - since it's easy to put too much strain on your neck. Most people do this on a daily basis; consequently the vast majority will also suffer from neck problems at least once in their lives. The reasons are many and varied.
Everyday life is now fraught with occasions when neck strain and misalignment occur. Not least because of the strange postures we often adopt in front of computers and mobile phones. At best, the problems are temporary. Temporary neck problems can often be remedied with rest, better ergonomics, corrected posture or better sleeping positions.
However, poor working posture, sedentary lifestyle, repetitive movements and incorrect loading over a long period of time greatly increase the risk of severe, long-term or chronic neck problems.
Structures between the base of the skull and the spine can suffer from wear and tear. The vertebrae of the neck can also be affected by the chronic joint disease osteoarthritis. The cause of osteoarthritis is not fully understood, but it is suspected that it may also develop due to the cumulative effect of repeated small injuries and long-term wear and tear.
In contrast, painful conditions such as neck strain and difficult-to-treat neck injuries (such as whiplash) - will occur in an instant. Always consult a doctor or physiotherapist for long-term problems, injuries or severe pain.
Neck support with the ability to reflect far infrared energy can aid recovery and help relieve symptoms. This is due to the beneficial effect of FIR and its ability to stimulate blood flow.
Therapeutic neck supports with Welltex® and/or Iontex®
A neck support from Back on Track is used for its therapeutic effect. It works by re-radiating the far infrared energy naturally generated by the body. The neck support is positioned to cover the area of concern, preferably in direct contact with the skin.
The supports come in different designs and consist of different types of textile materials to best meet your needs. Some are thin and discreet, while others are thicker and lined with fleece to add warmth. Our supportive neck collars have a soft or firm foam filling to also provide stability and relief.
Back on Track products always contain a textile technology (Welltex® or Iontex®) that adds therapeutic properties to the material closest to the skin. When a functional fabric contains Welltex® and Iontex®, it means that minerals are fused into the threads of the fabric.
The minerals absorb and emit body heat in the form of far infrared electromagnetic radiation. This form of energy is reflected back towards the body and transmitted into the tissues. The far infrared energy can stimulate blood circulation locally and is often found to have a beneficial and relieving effect on problems affecting the neck, shoulders and shoulder area.
When to use neck support?
Neck supports from Back on Track work just as well for prevention as for rehabilitation and recovery. They have a therapeutic effect and can help increase circulation and blood flow. This in turn can reduce soreness and stiffness in muscles and joints. The supports can be worn whenever you want, both day and night.
Neck supports can help keep the muscles and tendons in the neck supple, warm and mobile. It is therefore a good idea to wear them when, for example, sitting in front of the computer and working. The effect of Welltex® and Iontex® can make it easier to relax tense, strained muscles. Tense muscles and tendons become short, stiff and have reduced blood circulation. When blood flow increases, the exchange of oxygen, nutrients and waste products also increases. All in all, this has a favourable effect that can reduce the risk of neck problems - or alleviate those that have already occurred.
However, which neck support is most helpful in your particular situation depends entirely on your own needs and when you want or need to wear it. If you want neck support to provide relief, choose a foam-filled collar that supports the head, allowing the muscles to rest. However, if you want to sleep with it, it's best if it takes up as little space as possible.
What they all have in common is that they absorb and emit ("reflect") far infrared energy, which penetrates the tissues and has a therapeutic and beneficial effect. The neck supports are designed to cover the neck and its surrounding structures - such as the upper spine, shoulders and shoulders.
Different types of neck supports
The neck supports from Back on Track are suitable for use if you feel stiff, tense or sore. The effect is due to Welltex®-/Iontex® technology's energy-reflecting minerals, which are permanently embedded in the material. The infrared energy, generated from body heat, is known for its ability to stimulate circulation and dilate blood vessels.
The effect is often experienced as soothing, warming and softening on stiff and cold muscles, joints and tendons.
All Back on Track neck supports contain the textile technology Welltex® and/or Iontex® - depending on the material of the neck support. The main function of neck supports is always to convey the effect of our textile technologies and thereby increase mobility and well-being.
However, the material can be of different thicknesses, provide more or less warmth and have different levels of breathability. It may also contain more or less supportive padding.
Clothing that increases well-being
Garments containing Welltex® and/or Iontex® have the same therapeutic function as the protectors. Our turtleneck sweater therefore acts as neck support - because it is made of a functional material that contains the energy-reflecting minerals. And because the whole shirt contains minerals, it also re-radiates your infrared energy all over your upper body. This can help release muscle tension and contribute to increased joint mobility. The shirt is available in both men's and women's sizes.
The ‘Per4mance Functional Scarf’ and the ‘Eli’ and ‘Blair’ loose polo collars are other examples of garments that double as neck support. ‘Eli’ and “Blair” are knitted garments whose inside is lined with a FIR-reflective material. This way, they keep the neck warm at the same time.
Welltex® tape for neck and shoulders
If you only want to apply the effect of FIR to a specific point or over a specific area, our Welltex® tape is an excellent choice. The tape consists of a textile material with good adhesion and FIR-reflecting properties. It stays firmly in place and works exactly where it is needed.
How to choose the right neck support
Back on Track's neck supports protect, warm, support and mediate the effect of our therapeutic textile technologies. They are therefore mainly used to promote and speed up recovery from neck injuries, strains, neck sprains, strains, osteoarthritis or overexertion. They also keep the muscles soft and warm.
As the therapeutic effect is the same across the protectors, the other material properties will determine which protector is the best fit.
What is the most important property of your neck support?
When should you use neck support? It is your own needs, in each individual situation, that will determine.
- Do you want neck support that warms? All textile neck supports provide some warmth just by covering the skin. However, both the ‘Amethyst’ and ‘Buckle Neck Supports’ are made of thicker, more warming materials. For extra warmth, there are our loose turtlenecks, knitted in either wool mix or cotton - with a lining in Iontex®.
- Need a neck support that supports your head? Both the ‘Stabilising Neck Collar’ and the ‘Soft Neck Collar’ enclose the neck and relieve its structures. ‘The ‘Stabilising Neck Collar’ has a firm foam filling while the ‘Soft Neck Collar’ has a softer foam filling of the same size and thickness.
- Do you want an ‘invisible’ neck support to wear under your clothes? Maybe you intend to sleep with it? ‘Carnelian’ is a thin neck support made of a functional material with very high breathability.
- Do you need to apply the Back on Track effect over a larger area? Many neck supports cover the shoulders, shoulders and chest. Our garments made of materials containing Welltex® or Iontex® cover a large part of the body.
- 5. Just want to apply the Back on Track effect exactly where it is needed? The Welltex® tape can be placed with great freedom and only just over the problem area.
Materials and technology
The therapeutic effect of infrared energy is due to the minerals that form the basis of our textile technologies Welltex® and Iontex®. These minerals are found both in our protectors and in our garments.
The minerals are selected precisely for their ability to absorb and re-emit infrared electromagnetic radiation - a form of energy produced by all living things and radiated from the body as part of body heat.
When these minerals are pulverised and fused into textile materials, the properties of the minerals are transferred to wearable joint and muscle protectors and garments. This allows the garment or protector to continuously absorb the body's own infrared energy and re-transmit it back into the tissues.
Infrared energy (FIR) affects, among other things, blood vessels and has a favourable effect on blood circulation and blood flow.
